CCF hosted the 3rd Annual Communicators Retreat in Asheville, North Carolina. With 50 congressional communications staff, industry partners, and energy stakeholders in attendance, we had a blast talking about our shared climate priorities and sharing tips of the trade.
We spent time learning about important topics from how to craft compelling stories about conservative climate priorities to messaging strategies for clean energy tax credits in Republican districts. We also provided professional development opportunities, including a panel on potential pathways for life and careers beyond Capitol Hill and how to leverage generative AI in climate communications. We heard from a local expert, Nathan Ramsey of the Land of Sky Regional Council, about local clean energy initiatives and how they are communicating about them with local communities.
Finally, we toured the Biltmore Estate to learn about their sustainability and agriculture practices, as well as Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., the first LEED Platinum-certified brewery in the United States.
